Had no problems. Mods work fine. Game runs great at max setting. Could put resolution to 4K or native if wanted, didn’t due to ui becoming tiny though.

Can run at native eg 3k, but just ran at 1512x982 since it runs smoother. The game runs perfectly; however, there are some very weird terrain glitches, like big black spikes appear everywhere sometimes. I found them mainly when looking at Outposts. Not sure why this happens. This is data from September 2025. have not tested past this but it was the same in 2024 so i doubt its fixed.

Runs fine playable for solo player when going to split screen the fps tanks like mad 10fps sort of stuff even on lowest settings not sure why this is from the reports here parallels seems like the best option

runs Perfectly must launch with glcore tho otherwise some terrain will vanish.

Very tricky to get running due to EA App / Steam handshake issues, but once launched it is decently playable (~45 FPS on High at 1080p). Takes 15–20 minutes of playtime for stuttering to settle (shader compilation).
What worked for me (M1 Max, CrossOver 25):

Installed EA App directly via CrossOver’s “Install a Windows Application” database (search for “EA App” or “EA Desktop” – do not download the installer from ea.com)
Launched the game only through Steam (not directly via exe)
Linked my Steam account to my EA account before trying to play (critical – otherwise activation errors like “DisplayName missing” appear)
Bottle settings that helped:
Graphics backend: D3DMetal (Has some weird lighting issues tho totally fine doesn't effect gameplay)
MSync: off
High-resolution mode: off
Emulate virtual desktop: off (did not test with it on)

System clock set to automatic (timezone sync)

Performance notes:

Best results on High preset → ~45-60 FPS at 1080p
Switching to Medium or Low did not improve FPS and actually increased stuttering
Ultra settings gave lower FPS 20-30
After 15–20 minutes of gameplay (practice race / free roam) stuttering became minimal
Occasional minor texture glitches, but overall definitely playable

Important warnings:

Steam ↔ EA account linking must be correct before launch, otherwise the game will break during the handshake
Did not use CXpatcher – it might fix texture issues or improve FPS further, but I didn’t test it
Didn’t experiment much with other translation layers (Whisky, GPTK, etc.) after getting it stable

Tips for others:

Use CrossOver’s built-in installer to add EA App (no external download needed)
Log into EA App first, confirm Steam-EA link is active
Launch via Steam, not the game exe
Be patient with initial stuttering – let shaders compile
Stick to High settings if you’re getting ~45-60 FPS; lowering presets didn’t help much in my testing

Verdict:great for casual sessions once past the setup hurdles. Worth the effort if you want local play.

was not using frame gen but was using fsr3 upscaling at ultra performance upscaling from 504x328 still look good at no upscaling at 1512x982 15fps at 80ms latency however with quality fsr3 i was getting 30fps ish with 30 ms latency the picture is at fsr3 ultra performance about 5 fps lower in combat scene gpu was at 95% usage cpu at about 90%

The game failed to display text for missions, trading outposts and several other core features were not functional. However, the sandbox mode is playable.

Split Screen tends to have a few stutters but overall very good.

M Sync On. No stutters. Feels Native.

Works Perfectly didn't notice anything wrong.

I experience stuttering with certain chess pieces although some perform well. Overall works well. -Good-

The game has a minor stutter on scene loading but is otherwise perfectly playable and runs exceptionally well.

The user interface was malfunctioning and the visuals were non-existent. The sound is working but the you cannot see anything.

Must tweak setting a lot, no set preset works well. stutters on all presets playable though.

Although not the most optimised, it runs fine with minimal stuttering.

Occasional stutters, provides a playable experience but is not the most optimised. Note Modding can significantly impact frame rate. (Big mods eg prototype, the red death, call of the void etc.)

There are occasional freezing issues when zooming in and out. The overall performance is Good and i have found functions malfunctioning as far a tested. M sync On

It runs without issue although a blank screen occasionally appears after launch. Simply close and reopen the game to resolve this. M sync was on. Windows 10 64bit bottle

When launching the game from a moderate save file (approximately 100 hours), the frame rate is approximately 30. After 15–20 minutes of gameplay, the frame rate increases to 60. This is likely because the save file is stored in RAM. The resolution cannot be increased beyond the computer’s scaling settings.
