CrossOver
vcrossover preview 26
base model m4 Mac
Basic model M4 max.
Graphics settings - textures and environments are low, everything else is medium-high.
The game works fine, but on a 16GB model it is recommended to avoid long sessions and periodically restart the game, as it requires a lot of video memory, and memory consumption increases during gameplay. When there is not enough video memory, the game crashes or FPS decreases.
Rebooting or temporarily increasing the Mac OS video memory limit helps

CrossOver
v26.0
Latest version of FF7 Rebirth and CrossOver (as of May 2026). Tested in different translation errors in both Junon and Costa Del Sol. Similar to how it is on Windows, the frame timing is inconsistent if you watch the graph. In Costa Del Sol, I'd say they all performed about equally, getting around 80-90fps on High settings, with no upscaling, with lowest possible dips in low 70s. Junon was a different story. For whatever reason, D3DMetal performed horribly, hovering around 50 fps. DXMT and DXVK performed around equally at around 80-90 fps in Junon. I would expect you could get a mostly steady 60fps lock with minimal fluctuations aside from frame pacing, but Rebirth isn't known for being the most optimized game even for Windows. Would recommend using either DXMT or DXVK over D3DMetal for this game.
