Game Information

For over two decades, Counter-Strike has offered an elite competitive experience, one shaped by millions of players from across the globe. And now the next chapter in the CS story is about to begin. This is Counter-Strike 2.

A free upgrade to CS:GO, Counter-Strike 2 marks the largest technical leap in Counter-Strike’s history. Built on the Source 2 engine, Counter-Strike 2 is modernized with realistic physically-based rendering, state of the art networking, and upgraded Community Workshop tools.

In addition to the classic objective-focused gameplay that Counter-Strike pioneered in 1999, Counter-Strike 2 features:

  • All-new CS Ratings with the updated Premier mode
  • Global and Regional leaderboards
  • Upgraded and overhauled maps
  • Game-changing dynamic smoke grenades
  • Tick-rate-independent gameplay
  • Redesigned visual effects and audio
  • All items from CS:GO moving forward to CS2

Review Note:

Occasional microstutters and packet loss throughout the game. Game is playable but the lag ruins it.

Runs bad on base M1, only playable with bots and friends. More RAM and power is required if you want to attempt playing with matchmaking

Huge stutters and fps dips with constant audio crackling on DXMT and D3DMetal. Fps is all over the place on Overpass it's around 40-50 fps but on Jura it's 15-20 fps on Practice mode.

Review Note:

Enable E sync in Crossover and V sync in game. Play a practice match before going online so everything can load, it'll stutter horribly if not. Play in full screen or windowed full screen for better fps.

Using the Legacy CS:GO version. Quite a lot of stuttering. Definitely playable against bots but not so much online in the few servers that still exist.

Review Note:

there is no way that one can play a fps game in 45-50 fps. also it stutters like hell.
in D3DMetal there will be less fps and more stutters but textures will load properly.
in DXVK performance is good but textures of leaf and bushes will not load
in DXMT game will open and shows a grey screen only but sound will work fine.

Review Note:

Turned on lowest settings except on quality for FidelityFX Super Resolution.

Optimization is ok, not good as CSGO but still playable.

Turn Vsync on and limit frames to 120 fps, this will definitely help with performance.

For all maps I can get above 100 FPS, some maps I get stutters in areas with a lot of entities like inferno, but It is good and you can play smoothly.

I use MSync and D3D Metal.

Review Note:

Runs good to play. CMD+Tab sometimes breaks the game and it needs a restart. Steam overlay does not work on D3D Metal currently. If you use 1000 hz polling on your mouse you might have issues. No crashes, lags or stutters.
