I’m playing on the Steam version. Please note this is an INTEL (not Apple Silicon) application. You will use Rosetta 2.
It plays well enough. It’s never been the best optimized game on any platform, and the same applies on Macs. It uses up a ton of CPU, and it does not respect its window bottle. That means that, while running it, any application displayed above it will be affected by the animations happening within the game window. Not the end of the world, but something to be aware of. A case could be made that it should be played full screen because of this.
Other than that, it loads faster than on any other platform I’ve ever played the game on (Windows, iPad, Xbox), and it has not yet crashed on me. So, good performance overall, with the “usual” shortcomings of the game applying here as well.
FPS is user-definable, but the game has always played best at 30, so I left it at default. All graphical options are turned on.
